Youth Shot In Shoulder
(N. 7. Press Association) BLENHEIM, Sept. 19. A young man was shot in a shoulder in an accident at Pine Valley, 26 miles from Blenheim, on the Northbank side of the Wairau river, this morning and is now in the Wairau Hospital. He is Roger Carter, aged 18, of Christchurch, who was in the valley with his two elder brothers and his stepfather on a shooting expedition. It Is believed that Roger asked his brother. Peter, to demonstrate a shooting technique. In the process, a firearm was discharged and Roger was wounded in the left shoulder.
