EMERGENCY AIRSTRIP
Alternative To Alexandra “TM Press" Special Service DUNEDIN, August 9. South f Pacific Airlines of New Zealand, Ltd., has been licensed to use Boxburgh airstrip as an alternative to the Alexandra strip, should it be closed by weather. This information was given by Mr J. D. Brown, secretary of Roxburgh Aerodrome. Ltd. Since the scheduled air service through Alexandra was initiated some flights have had to be diverted from there to Invercargill or Oamaru. The aerodrome company offered th» facilities of its, strip to the tfompShy as an alternative landing place in Central Otago late Aast year.
The offer was acknowledged .■ by the company, which then sought a licence for the use of the strip.
