Fresh Bread Defined
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 9. What constitutes fresh bread was a question put to parties by Mr Justice Tyndall druing award proceedings in the Arbitration Court at Auckland. Mrs D. Nell, president of the Tauranga Housewives’ Association and chairman of the Tauranga Consumer Association: Bread which has been baked not more than 24 hours earlier. Mr W. C. McDonnell. New Zealand secretary of the Bakers’ and Pastrycooks’ Union: My definition is bread which is fit for consumption and Is palatable. His Honour: That is a very wide definition. Mr McDonnell: Yes, sir. It is a matter of personal opinion and individual taste.
