Play To Begin On Monday The Canterbury Amateur Billiards Association will commence its championship series next Monday and Tuesday with the first round of the senior billiards championship. T. Yesberg is .he defending champion, and if the interclub series is a guide he will once again face Strong opposition. YeSfoeng’s form in the inter, club series has not been up to his usual standard, but if he can equal his perform ances of last season's championship he will be one of the hardest to beat. E. Simons, winner of this title on two previous occasions. will be one of the players to provide stern Opposition. His form in the interclub tournament has been good, with wins over both Yesberg and D. Higgins He was runner-up last year, and his match with Yesberg was of a very high standard. Higgins, a former titleholder also, is showing good form. K. Murphy is another who should play well With his free and quick style of play, he will, no doubt, be a danger to the province’s leading players. Other players who may be prominent are R. Franks.
