Two Men Fined £l5 Each

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 29. A screaming girl being carried in a horizontal position along the footpath in Kilbirnie crescent by two men at 10.15 p.m. yesterday attracted the attention of a police constable who apprehended the men after they had thrown the girl orer a 6ft high fence, it was said in the Magistrate’s Court today. Nicholas Joseph Walsh, aged 18. window cleaner, and James Peter Atley, aged 19. carpenter, both pleaded guilty to a joint charge bf behaving in a disorderly manner in a public place. Both defendants told the police that they were just “having fun " They said they knew the girl, but were unable to identify her. Each was convicted and fined £l5.
