Railway Station
Sir. —We have a most delightful railway atatiau, and it is kept beautifully clean inside. But what a disgrace the street is along the kerning and loading docks: The litter of old paper, stones, and boulders that have accumulated are definitely crying out for a broom and shovel from our City Council works department.— Yours.' etc., CIVIC PRIDE. May 4, 1961. [The city engineer <Mr E I Somers > said: “The station, platforms, loading docks and l so on are attended to by the Railways Department. Much of the debris mentioned is due to the road reconstruction under the control of the Ministry of Works, and at the completion of this job surplus road metal and screenings will be removed, thereby enabling the area to be swept periodically by city council men and plant. The road immediately in front of the railway station has been swept periodically, but will be done more often from now on.”]
