Kaiapoi Hospital
Sir, —Through your paper I would like to answer the unwarranted attack Councillor K. Sinclair made at a Kaiapoi Borough Council meeting. He called a certain section of people in Kaiapoi ‘‘unprincipled snobs.” 1 have a daughter who has had all her children in Christchurch and she has lived in Kaiapoi all her life; she is not a snob, and neither is she unprincipled. This is a free country and if a woman prefers to go to another town to have her babies that is entirely her own business. I would say. leave the women to their babies and Councillor Sinclair to the council.— Yours, etc., INDEPENDENCE. May 17. 1961.
