Colombo Tea Sales
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) COLOMBO. May 17. Offerings at this week’s Colombo tea sales totalled 6.621,2351 b weight and met strong general demand, according to the official report. Although quality from western districts was Inferior, there was active competition for the best liquoring sorts at substantially dearer rates, but plainest liquoring kinds were lower. Better liquoring uva teas were firm to dearer, but plainer sorts were lower.
There was less demand for medium brokens, which declined by five to 10 cents a pound. Low grown teas were in good demand at about previous rates
