SWIMMING SCHOOL

Miss D. Brown “Delighted 99 (NZ. Preet Association) AUCKLAND. May 3. The secretary of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, Miss Doreen Brown, of Christchurch, told members of the Auckland Swimming Centre thss evening that she was “delighted” with the possibilities of a national training school at Tauranga, or some other suitable centre. The school is intended as a training group for New Zealand swimmers chdsen to compete in the Empire Games at Perth in November, 1962. Neither Christchurch nor any other South Island centre was wall placed for facilities for such a school, Miss Brown said. As a consequence, she was certain that southern centres would be fully behind the movement to set up the school in the north.
