A Federal judge made a Court order today to tie up Ingemar Johansson’s purge until March 17 four days after the Swede’s bid to regain the heavvweight boxing championship from Floyd Patterson A District Judge Emett Choate also granted Federal investigators “discovery” rights to ascertain how much money was available, and where it was available* ih the Internal Revenue Service’s efforts to collect 598.181 dollars it claims Johansson owes in income taxes for previous United States fights and appearances At the same- time. Judge Choate told the investigators not to bother Johansson personally before the fight “They are to do nothing to affect his ability to fight. That would be unfair." the Judge told reporters. Technically. Judge Choate extended for 10 days a 10-day restraining order issued on February 28 to prevent the fight’s promoters.
