Flies’ Habits In The Winter

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 11. The question of where the houseflies go in winter has been answered by Dr. R. Harrison, of the Mount Albert Plant Diseases Division of the Department of Scientific and Indrstrial Research, at Auckland. He told the quarterly conference of health inspectors: “They don’t go anywhere They still breed, but in very reduced numbers. The female fly takes much longer to go through its breeding cycle and therefore fewer flies come along. Also the mortality rate in winter flies is terrific."
