NEW VICARAGE BLESSED

St. Saviour’s Church

A two-storeyed house in Beckenham to be used as the vicarage for the parish of St. Saviour was blessed and dedicated by the Archdeacon of Christchurch (the Ven. S. E. Woods) before/ about 250 parishioners and visiting clergy on Sunday. The house, in Roxburgh street, was bought by the church from a parishioner. The vicar (the Rev. J. F. Ellas) and his family will move into their new home this week.

After dedicating the house. Archdeason Woods said the site of the new vicarage was very central for the parish of St. Saviour, and therefore most important to Anglicans in the district Parishioners could now look forward to the day when the new church was built on the Site adjacent to the new vicarage. The old vicarage in Sydenham will be used as the curate's house until the parish has its new

church. “We hone to have it within the next five vears. So far we are only in the initial planning stages,” said Mr Ellis
