U.S. GIRLS ON WORLD TOUR
Trip For Travel Agents
Two enterprising young American women called at Christchurch for a few hours recently, in the course of a world tour They are Misses Joan Baker and Mary Stahl, of Tulsa, Oklahoma. In partnership with another American girl. Miss Stahl runs a private travel agency in Tulsa. Miss Baker, a former air hostess with American Airlines, joined her two months ago to work as a travel consultant and booking officer.
After a quick tour of New Zealand, the girls will visit islands in the South Pacific. In Fiji, they will join Misses Jane Brailey, Freda Tisbury, and Mary Heien, who are all on a familiarisation tour of New Zealand and the South Pacific before they take up positions in the new Chevrcn-Hilton Hotel in Sydney as travel consultants for Tasman Empire Airways, Ltd. The American girls are on a similar but more comprehensive tour, to enable them to give customers first-hand information on world tourist spots.
