TWO SISTERS REUNITED
First Meeting In 37 Years The home of Mr and Mrs G. Coleman at Weedons, North Canterbury, has been the scene of a reunion between Mrs Coleman and her sister. Miss Edith Pogue. Miss Pogue flew out from Dublin in four days to visit her sister. They had not seen each other for 37 years. The sisters, who with one other sister, are the only survivors of a family of six, were born in Cavan, Southern Ireland. Mrs Coleman came to New Zealand in 1923 with her husband and two small children. They settled on a farm at Weedons, where they still live. Their children, now married with families, live nearby. Miss Pogue remained in Ireland to do psychiatric nursing training at Dundru Hospital in Dublin, where she remained for 50 years, until her retirement in June of this year. For several years she was matron of the hospital. Miss Pogue, who was thrilled to see her sister after so many years, and also three nephews and one niece whom she had never seen, thinks New Zealand “is a marvellous country.” She will, spend ■some time with her relatives at Weedons before returning to Ireland.
