HOLIDAY ROAD DEATHS

Five During Week-End

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 6.

The number of deaths in road accidents throughout the Dominion crept above last year’s unusually low total of two as the holiday week-end moved to a close tonight. Five deaths occurred—in Auckland. Whangarei, Canterbury. Otago and Southland.

The Queen's Birthday weekend has now accounted for 26 deaths in road accidents since 1956.

Bad weather made traffic lighter and driving extremely difficult a Transport Department officer said tonight
