RECORD SUPPLY OF MILK
Butter Prices In
Britain Down
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, April 8.
A record flood of milk from Britain’s 150,000 dairy farms had cut the price of milk, butter and cheese and lopped shillings a week from housekeeping bills, according to the “Daily Express.” Butter prices had been reduced by a third since Christmas and some varieties were down by Is 6d per lb. English butter, which had been almost unobtainable since last summer, could now be bought for three shillings (the same price as New Zealand), and imported blends were down to 2s Bd. Prices would come down still further when the milk flush reached its peak next month.
