Stone Thrown Through
Plate Glass
A large stone was thrown through the plate glass window °t the City Pet Meat Shop at 244' Durham street some time on Saturday night It was apparently done by some irate pet-lover as a mark of disapproval, because of an article which appeared in a national newspaper last week, said the proprietor, Mr B. D. Williamson. yesterday. He has reported the matter to the police. The plate glass window in the front of the shop, which is valued at about £25. has been completely shattered. There are two holes in the window of about five inches and 1J inches in diameter and cracks radiate out from these for almost the full length of the Window. Mr Williamson said he discovered the damage when he Went to the shop about 11 a.m. yesterday. The window was intact when he was at the shop about midday on Saturday. The stone and numerous fragments of glass were found on the display shelf behind the window. There were no stones at the ®ze thrown through the window in me vicinity of the shop so it must nave been taken there for the Purpose, Mr Williamson said.
