River Plate Veterans’ Reunion

Laurence Binyon’s famdus words ''“They shall grow not old as We that are left grow old” —rang cut at a solemn ceremony at the River Plate Veterans’ Association reunion on .Saturday night. They were followed by the playing of * the “Last Post.” The veterans had earlier attended a sunset parade at Achilles Point at which the Royal Marine band of the Royal New Zealand Navy performed the ceremony of “beating retreat,” and a short service was conducted. The reunion—2o years almost to the day after battle —was attended J by more than 100 members of the ' association.
