Stevenson’s Tomb
Sir,—l am sure many of your readers will be thankful to Lord Cobham for visiting the tomb of Robert Louis Stevenson, noting the error in the lines lettered in the black marbled stone, and generously offering to have the words put right. Who can read those beautiful lines that flowed from the author’s pen without being touched, unless the heart is as hard as granite? “Oh, for the touch of a vanished hand and the sound of a voice that is stilled. Home is the sailor, home from sea, and the hunter home from the hill.”—Yotuts, etc., THE "RETREAT. August 24. 1959.
