Agreement On Proposals

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 3. The Ministprof Agriculture (Mr [Skinner) today had talks with representatives on the establishment of a diagnostic station in the South Island. It is understood the Minister and the representatives reached complete agreement on a proposal which will now be put before the Cabinet. Those who saw Mr Skinner were Messrs J. D, Ormond, of the Meat Board. A. M. Linton, of the Dairy Board, and J. Acland, of the Wool Board. . • In Christchurch two weeks ago Mr Skinner promised an early announcement of the establishment of diagnostic services in the South Island. He had earlier inspected facilities at Taieri and Lincoln.

One of the main points discussed at today’s talks is understood to have been the industries' contribution to the establishment of further diagnostic stations. It was earlier reported 'that the Meat and Wool Boards had agreed to contribute £15,000 toward the establishment of further stations, if the Government established and maintained the first station in the South Jsland. , It is understood the dairy industry also agreed to contribute to these stations.
