(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 3. ( A man was killed when a light model English car he was driving ran off the main road at Silverstream ,in the Hutt Valley, and hit a telegraph pole about 2.30 _p.m. yesterday. He was:

DouglM Pirie Clarke, aged about 53, of Featherston. Mr Clarke was dead when doctors arrived at the scene of the accident The car was only slightly damaged.
