RISINGHOLME CENTRE

Square Dance Evening

The square dance group of the Risingholme Community Centre celebrated its tenth birthday with a ”ho down” held in the “Bar Q Ranch” on Saturday evening. The 70 guests present wore fancy dress, mostly western costume or Scottish and Irish national costumes.

The theatre at the centre was decorated with stags’ heads, sheepskins, and stored pumpkins for the occasion, and supper was served from the cook-house.' The birthday cake was cut by a foundation member, Mr H. Lloyd. Items by Misses V. Boyce and J. Nelson. (highland fling) and the Stavemasters (harmonica band) were presented during the evening.

Proceeds from the function went towards the theatre curtain fund.
