VISIT BY MUSIC PROFESSOR

Former Christchurch Woman

(New Zealand Press Association) HAMILTON. June 14.

Miss Jean Anderson, a professor at the Royal Academy of Music. London, formerly of Christchurch, has arrived in New Zealand to visit her father. Mr O. W. B. Anderson, of Hamilton, formerly of Christchurch. While here Miss Anderson is to make six recordings for the New Zealand Broadcasting Service in addition to playing three concertos with the Alex Lindsay group and the National Orchestra. She is also to give lecture recitals to schools.

Miss Anderson went to England in 1946 on an Associated Board pianoforte scholarship, where she studied under Frederick Jackson. She remained there for five years, her scholarship having been twice extended. She has played at concerts .in the Wigmore Hall lunch hour series, represented New Zealand as pianist at the Anzac concert held at Australia House, London, and was selected to play at the inaugural concert of the New Zealand Music Society in London. MisS Anderson will be in New Zealand till October.
