’The Press' Special Service DUNEDIN, Feb. 16. Mr G. J. Barton has sold Persia to Mr A. T. Burnett, of Riversdale, who is well known as the owner of the Grand National Hurdles and Steeplechase winner. Cogitation. The six-year-old Khorassan gelding was left with the Gore trainer, R. J. Cochrane, after his race in the high-weight event on Saturday. He will have his first start for his new owner in , the Taieri Hurdles at the Dunedin meeting on Saturday. Persia was bought at the 1954 Trentham yearling sales for 800 guineas. He won £2470 in Mr Barton’s colours, the result of five wins and 17 piacings. His most important success was the Cashmere Plate at Riccarton.
