£200,000 Grant For Relief

LONDON, January 21. The Government has made a grant of £200.000 for priority assistance to help relieve unemployment in Hull, where 6000 persons are out of work. The money will be spent in making a dual Carriageway. The grant was described as a shortterm measure for providing immediate work.

It was the first time in postwar years that money had been specified for work to help Hull’s unemployed.
