U.S. AIRCRAFT MOVEMENTS
After flying the three survivors of the Otter aircraft crash at Marble Point (Antarctica) to Honolulu, a United States Navy Skymaster aircraft returned to Christchurch on Wednesday. Piloted by Lieutenant-Com-mander H. Hanson, the aircraft landed at the ILN.Z.A.F. station, Wigram, at 8 p.m. Earlier on Wednesday, the 150 men who arrived in Christchurch aboard the US.S. Wyandot last Friday left for the United States aboard three Military Air Transport Service R6-D (Liftmaster) aircraft. The party included 40 scientists, 50 members of the Navy VX-6 air squadron, and sailors, who spent the winter at Little America.
