Memorial Avenue

Sir, —At the head of Memorial avenue and at the entrance to our own airport may I Suggest:— A well-kept garden plot; a suitable plaque; a good substantial flag pole; the New Zealand flag flown 365 days each year; one of the bands from our own Services beating the Retreat there on suitable anniversaries. This, sir, would go far to impress upon overseas visitors that “This is New Zealand.”—Yours, etc., OUR FLAG. January 21, 1959.
