THE FLAGSHIP OF THE ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.—Visitors on the forecastle of H.M.N.Z.S. Royalist at Lyttelton yesterday afternoon. An able seaman is explaining the workings of the starboard capstan under one of the cruiser’s eight 5.25in. dual-purpose guns, which are capable of delivering four tons of high explosive a minute over a distance of 10 miles. The Royalist sailed for Timaru last evening in continuation of her southern cruise.
