HOLLYWOOD, January 21. The pioneer movie-maker, Cecil B. De Mille, producer of biblical epics, and a giant in Hollywood since he helped found the >fllm
colony nearly 50 years ago, died in his Hollywood mansion toda'y after a brief illness. He was 77 years of age. De Mille had not been well since two days before Christmas, when die returned from a whirlwind toilr of New Orleans, Atlanta, and New York to advertise his latest film. "The Buccaneer." De Mille, whose recent film. “Ten Commandments,” was his seventieth film, had said only a week ago, when asked about the future, that his plans included "another picture or another world.” 1
