COMMENT IN MOSCOW
*Cold War Shown To Be Alien’
(Rec. 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 14. A Moscow Radio commenator said today that Mr Anastas Mikoyan’s visit to the United States was proving that “there are no differences between the Americans and the Russians that could cause us to fight each other,’’ said the American Associated Press.
The commentator referred to the “warmth and friendliness’’ accorded the First Deputy Premier, claiming that it showed “how much the people of our two countries want to live at peace with each other and how »alien to them is the cold war.” The radio said the Russians were following Mr Mikoyan’s progress with close attention. “It gives us pleasure to hear that when Mr Mikoyan speaks of the need to put an end to the cold war and to improve SovietAmerican relations Lis sentiments are applauded by the Americans he meets.
“It seems to me that this is more than ordinary hospitality and formal courtesy. I feel this is the manifestation of the friendly feelings that the American people have for the Soviet pebple.” said the commentator.
