Police Investigations Continue

(New Zealand Press Association) GORE, January 12. “Nothing material so far,” was the comment made this morning by Senior-Detective J. H. Alty, head of the Invercargill C. 1.8., on police investigations into the early-morning , fires which occurred at Gore on Friday. The police now have a fourth case to add to The three outbreaks of fire which gutted the town hall, destroyed a residence in the hill suburb of North Gore, and severely damaged a piecart. The cart was also robbed of a sum reported to be in excess of £lOO. a About 7.30W.m. on Friday, a resident who has an interest in the community centre housed tn the former high school buildings discovered what is suspected was an attempt to set one of the structures at the centre alight. It is suspected that the attempt was made about the same time as the other fires occurred.
