Sir, —My first point is that if freedom is a good thing in itself, we must make sure that everybody enjoys it equally: otherwise we might find that one or two have all the freedom and the majority are slaves. Uy second points is thaa equality of freedom depends on equality of income: the rich have far more freedom than the poor. They claim this because they were bom with the ability to manipulate the economic system to their own advantage more than a less talented poor man can. Talented burglars might make the same claim. Equality of freedom therefore necessitates the abolition of the classes of rich and poor. My third point is that the primitive Christians believed that their gospel was for the poor only and that the rich were past redemption (see Luke 16: 19-31); and they logically set up a Christian Communism (see Acts 2, 44-45).—Yours, etc.,
