Blood Donors Needed

Although there has been a 16£ per cent, increase in the amount of blood given to the Mobile Unit and the Blood Bank this year compared with 1957, there has been such an unexpectedly large demand for blood from the various North Canterbury hospitals that the Blood Bank at the Christchurch Hospital will be open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday of each week during the holidays. Mobile Unit donors and visitors to Christchurch would be very welcome, especially those in the groups O Positive and O Negative, the secretary of the North Canterbury Blood Transfusion Service (Mr T. W. Smith) said yesterday.
