W.D.F.F. Handwork Display
A floral and bandwork display was held recently by the Dunsandel branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers, when the president (Mrs W. P. Chatterton) welcomed many visitors from neighbouring branches of the division and country women’s institutes. Sprays were presented to guests of honour by the vice-president (Mrs A. T. Wright). A feature of the programme was a parade of hats which had been made by members of millinery classes under the guidance of Miss R. Robbins and Mrs McKenzie. Items were given by Miss V. Manson and Miss Z. Chatterton (duet) and Mrs W. Hope (monologue). Those taking part in a play presented were Mesdames Clark, W. Hope, R. Knight, W. P. Chatterton, L. G. Woods and Wilson.
Annual trophies were awarded as follows:—Floral decorative section, Mrs W. G. Carter; cooking, Mrs W. J. Wraight; handwork, Mrs W. P. Chatterton. A Christmas cake, made and iced by Mrs H. Frampton, was won by Mrs H. Middleton.
