TRIBUTES PAID TO NURSES

Mr Mason At Diploma Ceremony

'New Zealand Press Association)

WELLINGTON, November 20. More young women entering nursing today had higher educational qualifications than before, said the Minister of Health (Mr Mason) at the post-graduate nurses’ end-of-course diploma ceremony, today. "A considerable majority of nurses now have School Certificate or even higher.” This, had become particularly noticeable during the last five years, he said.

Nurses from overseas came to New Zealand, but also many New Zealand nurses went abroad. “The nurse going overseas upholds the reputation of this country as much as any of our famous products and people who go abroad,” he said.
