Reply Received From Mr Nash

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 25. The State Service organisations had received a reply from the Prime Minister (Mr Nash) on their request for a wage increase based on the ruling rates survey in outside industry early this year, the secretary of the combined committee (Mr J. Turnbull) said today. Representatives of the organisations had discussions this week with Mr Nash. The committee met late this morning but Mr TumbulL after its conclusion, had no comment to make on the letter.

Gore Post Office.—A new post office building, costing £120,000, was opened at Gore yesterday afternoon by the PostmasterGeneral (Mr Moohan).—(P.A.)
