Youth Ran Away From Home
(Njew Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, Sept. 23. An 18-year-old Wellington youth, afraid he would have to .answer for ‘‘peeping tom” conduct, ran away from home and became a burglar and store thief in Auckland and Napier, police told Mr R. M. Grant, S.M., in the Auckland Magistrate’s Court today. Michael Gavin Walker, a shop assistant and former apprentice, admitted four charges of burglary, 24 of theft and a charge of being unlawfully on premises. He was remanded in custody a week for sentence.
The police said that from May to August Walker stole £324 worth of property.
