Victorian Royal Commission

MELBOURNE, Sept. 22. Victoria’s proposed Royal commission on off-course betting would be open to the public and the press, the State Premier (Mr Henry Bolte) said today. He said that the commission would begin its investigations as soon as possible. The State Cabinet today considered the terms of reference to go before a meeting of the Parliamentary Liberal and Country Parties tomorrow.
The Goverhment decided last week to set up the Royal commission which, among other things, is expected to investigate an off-course betting system.
