Dispute Of Ruling By Commissioner

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 10. The road transport industry lodged an appeal on Friday against the decision of the Commissioner of Transport (Mr H. B. rejecting the industry’s application for increased charges. The industry’s application is based on the rise in petrol tax, which has applied since the Budget in July, and other increased costs. The appeal is lodged in the names of the New Zealand Road Transport Alliance, the Welling-ton-Hutt Valley Carriers’ Association, and the New Zealand Taxi Proprietors’ Federation. The Transport Charges Appeal Authority (Judge Archer) will hear the appeal iff Wellington on August 26.
