ARMS DROPPED TO REBELS

(Rec. 9 p.m.) JAKARTA, Mar. 21. An Indonesian spokesman said in Jakarta today that arms parachuted to Sumatran rebels had come from Nationalist China.
Lieutenant - Colonel jSukendro, the Army intelligence chief, said the rebels in the past had made contacts with some generals and Ministers in Taipeh. Colonel Sukendro told a news conference that he did not know whether the arms came from the Government of Nationalist China. A DC-4 aircraft had dropped irme to the Sumatran rebels on
February 26 and March 12, he said. Colonel Sukendro said the Army would exhibit arms captured by paratroops at Pakanbaru. He said he understood that the arms had been purchased at only one quarter of their original price. He also said a chartered plane had landed at Menado, the capital of the North Celebes, with arms.
