Fall Of Id A Pound (N.Z. Press Association—Copy rig hi LONDON, January 21. New Zealand butter will retail one penny a pound cheaper after a drop of 10s per cwt. in the wholesale price on the London provision exchange on Saturday, it was announced today. A week ago, Danish butter was reduced by 2d a pound. A spokesman for the trade said the new prices would continue for a few months at least. Wool Values At Newcastle (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) NEWCASTLE, January 21. The Newcastle wool market today ruled from part to 2£ per cent. up on Sydney’s closing rates last week, for all descriptions. The irregularities evident at the pre-Christmas sales were gone. There was a practically total clearance of the 16,313 bales offered, with Japan and the Continent leading the bidding and supported by Britain. '•v Comebacks and crossbreds comprised about 10 per cent, of the offering. Crossbred prices: good 58’s, 77d: good 56’s, 72d; good average 60’s, 71d.
