In October goods to the value of £29,949,000 were sold on hire purchase under 961758 agreements. The advances) by hirepurchase firms in October totalled £19,590,000. j Of the advances, (£13,288,000 was to finance the purchase of 30,355 motor-vehicles (valued at £21,773,000. Household goods to the value of £6,61(1000 were bought under 64,174 agreements under which £5,338,004 was advanced. The remaining £964,000 of advances made during October Was used to buy plant (and equipment to the value of , £ 1,560,000.
