Stop Sign Wanted

Sir.—Those who live near the corner of Stanmore road and Gloucester street' are slightly weary of their regular Saturday night entertainment of shriekcrash —bang—deadly silence—hysterical weeping. Has any intersection the notoriety of this one? It is a good intersection v. ;th perfect visibility. Too good! Th ■ catch is those two lovely long blocks in Gloucester street which lead up to it. The cars on Gloucester street with monotonous regularity fail to give way. One holiday recently eight people visited the doctor’s surgery. Later, one died. Do we await a further fatality or must we have a triple or multiple one? Why not a simple stop sign on Gloucester street? I. for one. would welcome some sleep on Saturday nights. Y ° UrS CONSTANT ATTENDEE October 28. 1957.
