Inquiries At Forbury
After the St. Kilda Handicap at Forbury Park on Saturday J. Walsh driver of Ley’s Pride, was ques -1 tioned by the stipendiary stewards 1 regarding the performance of this mare. It was found that she was hanging badly and Walsh was unable to keep her up with the field Walsh’s explanation was accepted. Walsh was also questioned after lhe Visitors’ Handicap regarding the breaking of Dame Sybil. It was found that she was pulling hard and choked. She was pulled up after breaking. A summary inquiry was held into the breaking of Teremoana in the St. Kilda Handicap. It was found that Nadjehda broke in front of her. D. Marsh, driver of Sandfly in the Churchill Handicap, was fined £5 for an unauthorised change of gear. D. C. Jessop, driver of Crimson Star in the City Handicap, and G. R.' Shirley.’ driver of Johnny Derby m the same race, were questioned regar ding the accident involving the] two horses at the end of a furlong, i It was found that Crimson Star ran, out. locking sulky wheels with. Johnny Derby, which lost his driver. | The incident was found to be accidental.
After the same race F. E. Newfield. driver of Auditor, was fined £5 for repeatedly looking back during the race. After the Recovery Handicap, S. Harley, the driver of Direct Hall, was found guilty of causing interference to Bedivus and Super Royal. He was fined £2O for the offence.
