Hay Time, which had shared the trail with Frasco from the half-mile to the straight, was three lengths back third, a nose in front of the fast-finishing Lucky Time.

Lucky Time had only four horses behind her at the half-mile, but from there started a long run which she sustained to the finish. Meteorologist, which had been on the inside of the winner at the half-mile, was fifth, and he was followed in by Equipage. Cloque and Aquarius. Lonesse and Steadfast were the last two to leave the barrier, and Lucky Time, Dulcet and Aquarius also dwelt slightly.
