Women air travellers should choose garments made from uncrushabie fabrics, such as wool, for the colder climates, and terylene and uncrushable cottons for the warmer climates, said the travel adviser for 8.0.A.C (Miss Jessie Fawsitt), who arrived in Christchurch last evening Miss Fawsitt. whose work includes public Stations, advises women passengers on the type of clothing suitable for air travel. Women air passengers were advised to leave large hats at home by Miss Fawsitt Hats were not worn in the tropics or the East as they immediately labelled th*' traveller as a tourist “If a woman wants to take an extra hat she should carry it in a light plastic bng which weighs little and can be placed in the rack inside the air'-ralt.” she said. Clothing, shoes, and similar items should be packed in plastic bags. Miss Fawsitt said They were light and lasted a long time and were much preferable Io packing in piper. “Always take a comfortable pair of shoes and garments that serve more than one purpose such as a light-weight coat that has been shower-proofed and can serve as a raincoat as well.” Miss Fawsitt, who has been stationed in Sydney for the last 10. years, arrived in New Zealand a fortnight ago and has been acting as a compere at parades of New Zealand-made fashions She is impressed with the style and cut of New Zealand-made clothes which she believes could take their place anywhere in the world When she returns to Australia by air today it will be her Iwent.vojghth flight across the Tasman Sea.
