CURRENT NOTES

Guests at the third birthday party of the Papanui Townswomen’s Guild were Mrs Plumridge. the Dominion president Mrs Collett, the Dominion secretary. and Mrs Fowler, the area president. Members and visitors were welcomed by the president (Mrs C. A. A. Smith). Items, were contributed by the drama and singing circles, and Mrs Plumridge cut the birthday cake. Gifts were made to the first babies born to Papanui Guild mothers. Mrs Wilson and Mrs Monaghan.

The growing of daffodils was the subject of a talk given by Mr E. W. Cotter at the October meeting of the Somerfield Garden Club. Mrs W. A. Hardie presided.

Mrs S. B. Cutting demonstrated flowers made from plastic tubing at a recent meeting of the Merrie Wives’ Club of the Y.WC.A. Mrs Fisher presided over a good attendance
