Bank Holidays.—Trading banks will be asked to dispense with extra bank holidays and to “get in line” with the business community, the council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce decided. Strong criticism of the fact that banks were closed on certain days on which offices and shops were open was expressed by Mr O. K. Winstone. Some banks provided some facilities, but asked a special fee, he said.—(P.A.)
