N.Z. HORSES AT DOOMBEN

No Surprises In Scratchings (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) BRISBANE, June 26. There were no surprise scratchings before first acceptances were taken today for the Doomben Ten Thousand and the Doomben Cup. The Ten Thousand will be run on July 6 and the cup the following Saturday. Forty horses are still in each race. Last year, thefe were 39 first acceptors for the sprint and 41 for the Cup. Final acceptances are due at noon next Tuesday. There Were 25 runners in the Ten Thousand last year and 23 In the Cup. The New Zealand filly Yahabeebe, although a first acceptor for the Ten Thousand, is a doubtful starter, her trainer, Maurice McCarten, said today. Yahabeebe is on the seventh line of favouritism and has been solidly backed in the double. She has been entered for Warwick Farm, Sydney, next Saturday, but may not start. Following a keen demand for the Sydney distance performer. Baystone, in doubles, he has been promoted to equal favouritism with Shahwan for the Doomben Cup. Baystone is trained by Jack Green,, who has the Stradbroke winner and Ten Thousand second favourite, Kingster. Baystone was a strong Doomben Cup fancy last. year, but had to be scratched because of head injuries received before the start of an Eagle Farm race.

Fair Chance, Sombrero, Cambridge, Shahwan, Supreme Court, Decisive. Gentle Lu, Franlyle, Hot Spell. Luckydale. The New Zealand horses. Emphatic and Straight Lead, which were * scratched yesterday from the Doomben Cup, will leave Brisbane for Sydney on Friday.
