Mr A. E. T. Williams, chairman of the Social Security Commission, will represent New Zealand in the discussions on social security reciprocity at present being held in London. This decision was announced yesterday by the Minister in charge of Social Security (Mr R. G. Gerard). Mr Williams represented New Zealand in the previous talks held in 1955. (F.0.0.R.).
Major A. H. Sutton, chief instructor in infantry at Bumham, has been appointed G.S.O. 2 for the headquarters of the New Zealand Army Force to serve in Malaya.—(P.A.) Mr O. Conibear, stores manager for the Ministry of Works at Wellington, will retire tomorrow. He will be succeeded by Mr J. Thomas, assistant stores manager. Chairman for many years of the Wellington College Board of Governors and prominent in postprimary educational activities, Mr Conibear is well-known throughout New Zealand.—(P.A.)
Mr S. Roy was elected to life membership of the Risingholme Community Centre at a meeting last evening. Mr Roy joined the centre dn 1946 and has taken an active part in most of its functions. Much of the maintenance work on the centre’s buildings had been done by Mr Roy. In 1949 he was elected president
